Note that for mosquito numbers 0 - 50 mosquitoes = "Low", 51 - 100 = "Medium",
101 - 1,000 = "High", 1,001 - 10,000 = "Very High", >10,000 = "Extreme".

25/4/2000: Numbers were 'low' from Hanwood and Barrenbox. 'Medium' numbers (50) were collected from Willbriggie, with 27 Anopheles annulipes. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

17/4/2000: Mosquito numbers are on the decline but are unseasonably high. Hanwood had a 'high' (308) collection, with 136 Culex annulirostris. 'High' numbers (180) were also trapped from Willbriggie, with 31 Culex annulirostris. Barrenbox had a 'low' collection. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

18/4/2000: There were three Sindbis isolates from Culex annulirostris collected 27/3/2000 at Barren Box.

10/4/2000: Mosquito numbers continue to be well above average for this time of the year. 'Low/ numbers were trapped at Hanwood. Willbriggie collected 'very high' (1137) numbers, with 646 Culex annulirostris and 427 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box had a 'high' collection (192), with 162 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

7/4/2000: Two Ross River isolates were made from Culex annulirostris collected from BarrenBox on 20/3/2000.

3/4/2000: Some big numbers, for April, were collected this week. 'High' numbers (171) were trapped from Hanwood, with 121 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie had 'very high' numbers (1635), with 824 Culex annulirostris and 770 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box had a 'high' collection (221), with 200 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

27/3/2000: Numbers have declined considerably from the previous week, although Barren Box continues with a 'very high' collection. Hanwood trapped 'medium numbers (77), with 54 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie collected 'high' mosquito numbers (679), with 467 Culex annulirostris. 'Very high' numbers (1649) were trapped from Barren Box, with 1600 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

20.3.2000: Numbers well above average for this time of the year continue. 'High' numbes (824) were trapped from Hanwood, with 774 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie also had 'high' numbers (884), with 344 Culex annulirostris and 514 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box had a 'very high' collection (2561), with 2498 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

13/3/2000: There was a big increase in mosquito numbers and they were well above average. Hanwood had a 'high' collection (533), with 511 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie trapped 'very high' numbers (6624), with 2603 Culex annulirostris and 3972 Anopheles annulipes. The highest collection this year from Barren Box was acheived this week, with 'very high' numbers (5143) and Culex annulirostris (4956) predominated. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

6/3/2000: Numbers continue to decline and are slightly below average. Hanwood had 'high' numbers (415), with 310 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie had a 'very high' collection (2079), with 723 Culex annulirostris and 1342 Anopheles annulipes. Barrenbox trapped 'very high' numbers (1019), with 953 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

8/3/2000: Another Ross River virus was isolated from Willbriggie, this was from Anopheles annulipes trapped on the 7/2/2000.

3/3/2000: Another two Ross River viruses were isolated from Willbriggie, both from Culex annulirostris collected on the 7/2/2000.

29/2/2000: Four Ross River viruses were isolated from mosquitoes collected on the 7/2/2000. Two isolates were from Willbriggie and one each fron Hanwood and Barren Box. All isolates were from Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

28/2/2000: Numbers, especially at Hanwood, are down on the previous week but overall are above the long-term average. Hanwood had a 'high' collection (453), with 329 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie collected 'very high' numbers (6307), with 3098 Culex annulirostris and 3178 Anopheles annulipes. Barrenbox also had 'very high' numbers (2446), with 2315 Culex annulirostris.

21/2/2000: Some very big mosquito collections this week, all were 'very high' and well above the long-term average. Hanwood trapped 9073 mosquitoes, with 8658 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie collected 4568 mosquitoes, with  1728 Culex annulirostris and 2787 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box trapped 'very high' numbers (2348), with 2302 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

16/2/2000: Numbers are down this week with the cooler weather and are well below average. Hanwood had a 'medium' collection (59), with 53 Culex annulirostris. The Willbriggie collection was 'high' (705), with 606 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box trapped 'very high' numbers (1904), with 1540 Culex annulirostris and 352 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

7/2/2000: Mosquito numbers continue to rise and are well above the average. All sites had 'very high' collections. Hanwood trapped 2963 mosquitoes and most (2829) were Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie had 'very high' numbers (4944), with 3677 Culex annulirostris and 1250 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box collected 5930 mosquitoes, with Culex annulirostris (5631) dominating. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

31/1/2000: Mosquito collections are up this week, but still below average. Hanwood had 'high' numbers (536), with 497 Culex annulirostris. 'Very high' numbers (2201) were trapped from WIllbriggie, with 1152 Culex annulirostris and 1035 Anopheles annulipes. Barren Box had a 'medium' collection (78), with 65 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

23/1/2000: Numbers are again well below average and are down on the previous week. Hanwood had 'medium' collections (77), with 53 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie had a 'low' collection. Barren Box had 'high' mosquito numbers (235), with 114 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

18/1/2000: Numbers are still below average. Hanwood had a 'high' collection (374), with 366 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie had 'low' numbers, but this was due to a partial trap failure. Barren Box had a 'very high' collection (1209), with 874 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

10/1/2000: Numbers are still below average, although increasing. Hanwood had 'high' numbers (927), with 878 Culex annulirostris. 'Very high' (2365) numbers were collected at Willbriggie, with 1867 Culex annulirostris. Barrenbox Swamp had a 'very high' collection (1063), with 815 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

21/12/99: Hanwood had 'high' numbers (333), with 301 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie trapped 'very high' numbers (1200), with 947 Culex annulirostris. Numbers were 'very high' (1028) at Barren Box, with 686 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

13/12/99: 'High' mosquito numbers were collected at all three sites; Hanwood had a total of 246 mosquitoes, with 219 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie trapped 233 mosquitoes, with 161 Culex annulirostris. Barrenbox collected 443 mosquitoes, with 333 Culex annulirostris and 103 Anopheles annulipes. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

8/12/99: Hanwood had a 'high' collection (277), with 230 Culex annulirostris. 'High' numbers (379) were trapped from Willbriggie, with 324 Culex annulirostris. Barren Box had 'high' numbers (625), with 428 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

1/12/99: A 'high' collection (287) was made at Hanwood, with 219 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie trapped 'very high' numbers (1056), with 777 Culex annulirostris. 'High' numbers (245) were trapped from Barren Box, with 174 Culex annulirostris. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

24/11/99: 'High' numbers (243) were trapped from Hanwood, with 197 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie also had a 'high' collection (416), with 237 Culex australicus. Barren Box collected 'low' numbers. All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

18/11/99: All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses. Hanwood had 'high' numbers (175), with 80 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie trapped 'medium mosquito numbers (94) with 21 Culex annulirostris. 'Low' numbers were collected at Barren Box.

12/11/99: All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

10/11/99: 'Low' mosquito numbers were collected from Hanwood (Site 1), Willbriggie (Site 2) and Barren Box (Site 3).

4/11/99: All chickens tested negative for flaviviruses.

3/11/99: 'Low' mosquito numbers were collected at all sites.

1/11/99: All chickens from both the Barren Box and Hanwood flocks tested negative for flavivirus from the initial bleed at Griffith.

27/10/1999: Hanwood (Site 1) had 'medium' mosquito numbers with 26 Culex annulirostris. Willbriggie (Site 2) had "high" numbers with 154 Culex annulirostris.
